Skanska stays on schedule

The company claims that this is due to the fact that the developer and the general contractor for these projects belong to the same group.
“We are working on our residential projects according to the established schedules, and are even ahead of some of these. The mild winter has allowed us to speed up work where there was such a possibility. At the moment there have been no signs that we might need to suspend individual projects due to a lack materials or subcontracting companies. Most of the materials used in our projects are produced in Poland and so the risk of lack of supply at the moment is small,” explains Cezary Grzebalski, the director of project development of Skanska’s residential division.
Skanska’s main residential projects include Park Skandynawia in Warsaw’s Praga Południe district. Construction work on its second stage began at the end of June 2019 and will last until January 2021. Its two buildings will comprise 210 premises with a total usable area of over 10,000 sqm. Currently, Skanska is completing the construction work, while carrying out the masonry work, the electrical and sanitary installations and fitting the windows and is starting the interior plastering work.
Another ongoing development is Osiedle Mickiewicza, on the boundary of Warsaw’s Żoliborz and Bielany districts. The third stage, with 151 flats in three buildings, has already been completed and has been issued with an occupancy permit. Work has already begun on the fourth stage, which will offer 132 apartments and should be completed in Q3 2021.
Work also began on the third stage (94 apartments) of Jaśminowy Mokotów in the city’s Mokotów district in November 2019. Skanska has since completed the earthworks and most of the reinforced concrete work. The masonry work and sanitary installations are now underway, to be followed by the electrical installations, window assembly and external roofing work. This phase should also be completed in Q3 2021.
In the central part of the same district, the work on the second stage of the Holm House estate has been completed. This contains 226 apartments and four retail/service premises. The occupancy permit has been issued and the first flats should be handed over to their buyers soon. Since January the third stage of the estate has also been under construction. This comprises two buildings with 232 apartments of various sizes. The diaphragm walls and palisade assembly have already been completed, while the earthwork is ongoing, including on the foundation slab. Cranes have moved onto the construction site and preparations are being made to remove the existing buildings from it.
